Sourcing Buyer
Shotton Mill
What you'll do:
- Supporting the team by following purchasing processes and procedures to support business objectives and targets.
- Developing and shaping sourcing operations in order to develop and design cost effective contracts and services aligned to costs and requirements.
- Supplier development and cost optimisation on site, together with leading negotiation and drafting contracts aligned with business requisites.
- Reporting, Reviewing and negotiating competitive rates on a range of products and services within the sourcing area.
- Developing and managing sourcing processes and tools for key stakeholders within the Shotton Mill team.
- Working within budgetary processes with Finance and Stakeholders to develop cost optimisation and quality services.

What you'll bring:

Engineering Planning and Document Assistant
Shotton Mill
What you'll do:
- Provide ongoing administrative and technical support to the maintenance planning and scheduling area of a large Engineering Department, to ensure smooth coordination and delivery of operational tasks. With a keen focus on administrative tasks including but not exhaustive, Purchase Requests, Supplier Data Collection (this includes 3 quotes for all required items for engineering), Purchase Orders.
- Responsible for the creation and distribution of the maintenance reports to the wider team, in order to support with decision making and improving performance tracking.
- Collaborate with Engineering Management and Supervisors to support with general administrative activities.
- Support the Engineering purchasing function to ensure efficient and effective process.
- Responsible for the administration of work orders in order to support with preparing for routine maintenance work and the allocation of labour resource. This includes the administrative maintenance of all work orders, including adding attachments, printing, monitoring outstanding actions and the closure of work orders
- Raising and processing work requests, whilst ensuring timely and accurate handling to support operational tasks.
- Collaboration, information gathering and relationship management of suppliers in order to receive parts and equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assisting with the handling of general engineering correspondence, collation and maintenance of accurate records of departmental training programmes in conjunction with the HR team.

IT Support Technician
Shotton Mill
You will be a key member of the IT department responsible resolving technical and application issues for end users and providing assistance to more senior roles within the IT organization. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and supporting our manufacturing processes. Shotton Mill Limited (part of the Eren Holding group) is currently constructing the UK’s largest containerboard machine along with a tissue machine.
What you'll do:
- Providing first-level technical support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Responding to and resolving IT support requests via phone, email, or in-person.
- Assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Supporting end users with application issues, including ERP systems, manufacturing software, and other industry-specific applications.
- Documenting and tracking all support requests and resolutions using the IT ticketing system.
- Escalating complex issues to senior IT staff or external vendors as necessary.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
- Conducting user training sessions to improve IT literacy and promote best practices.
- Participating in IT projects and initiatives as required.
- Maintaining an inventory of IT assets and ensuring proper documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
- Either Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field., and/or relevant proven experience in a technical support role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
Knowledge and Experience
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common IT hardware and software.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Working on an 24x7 industrial site with the associated requirements and safety procedures.

Working Conditions
- You will initially be based within the project village on a site undergoing significant construction work. Once the new PM3 building is complete, we will be moving into a brand new facility.
- At times you will be asked to work outside normal hours in order to avoid disruption to the business.
- Some UK and international travel and/or remote support of other branches will be required to participate in the rebuild project and being part of the Eren Holding group.
TM1 Stock Preperation Mechanical Engineer

What you'll do:
- With a key focus of front-line maintenance, assisting in the coordination and action of the engineering department daily and weekly prioritisation, scheduling and preparation of workload.
- Focus on reliability and preventative maintenance to ensure problems are resolved effectively and efficiently.
- Responsible for the day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities associated with the Tissue TM1 Stock Preparation and Stock Approach.
- Provide mechanical support to the ancillary plant and equipment necessary for the paper machine to function reliability, including the WTP, CHP and the site wide workshops.
- Interact and support the TM1 production teams, ensuring a partnering working relationship to assist in the proactive approach of identifying problems and providing support where required.
- Provide effective and efficient response to un-planned maintenance activities, ensuring minimal effect on production, whilst ensuring safety and environmental release are a priority.
- Ensuring efficient resolution to all immediate and developing problems.
- Collaboration with Planners and managers to provide technical direction to engineering teams allocated to work within the TM1 area.
- Deliver safe, efficient and compliant services within and outside the workshop in line with Shotton Mills polices and standards and wider business requirements.
- Ensure agreed operational targets are achieved whilst considering asset availability, reliability and costs.

Control Room Operator (Energy)

Job Purpose:
What you'll do:
- Deliver safe, environmentally compliant and efficient operation of the plant, within operational parameters; ensuring compliance with management instructions, procedures and policies.
- Operation of the plant in order to deliver availability and reliability through investigations of fault conditions and incidents to achieve and exceed business KPI’s.
- Accountable for the compliance of internal customer requirements.
- Monitoring and evaluation of the plant’s technical readings via the DCS, to manage changes to the process as required. Reporting any issues within the plant to the Work Group Leader.
- Accountable for effective work control, communicating with the maintenance team ensuring the safety of people at work on a daily basis.
- Actively promote a culture of safety, health and environmental (SHE) awareness adopting a continuous improvement policy in SHE performance.
- Ensure consistent and accurate completion of the Shift Log entries and defect entries via the CMMS.
- Support the identification and implementation of improvements to the plant performance with regards to SHE, commercial, availability and reliability.
- Proactively support the Maintenance Team during technical projects, and planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Manage operational procedures, routines and reporting requirements to comply with current SHE policies.
- Through effective ‘task area management’ demonstrate ownership of the plant area, being a plant area knowledge specialist and have accountability for that area’s housekeeping.
- Support the Work Group Leader to provide effective management of all operational incidents, including assisting with RCA’s.
- Participate and deliver operations training and development of new staff.
- Ability and willingness to enact the duties of Work Group Leader as and when required.
What you'll bring:
- Sufficient, appropriate and relevant operations and/or engineering and maintenance experience within a similar role and/or process industry.
- Technical capability to learn and understand all areas of the Energy department (CHP, Biomass Boiler and WTP).
- A good understand of the Field Operator duties and requirements.

- A proactive approach to the role by clearly identifying practical and effective means of improving technical, commercial or procedural aspects related to the role.
- Be competent at communication and literacy, e.g. failure analysis, end of shift log, weekly feedback and improving operational safety and procedure documentation.
- A willingness to work 12 hour shifts on a shift rota and be flexible towards shift cover.
- Preferably an ONC/NVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline, and/or equivalent level of practical industrial experience.
- Have or be willing to work towards achieving an external authority competence award and to train as a Production Authorised Person (PAP).

Field Operative - Energy

Job Purpose:
What you'll do:
- Monitoring the CHP, Biomass Boiler, DI and RO Water Treatment Plants, Wood and sludge processes according to the current procedures and techniques.
- Carry out first line maintenance and fault investigation to ensure maximum plant availability.
- Undertake operational duties to the plant following agreed Operation Instructions including the Site Emergency Plan.
- Monitoring of plant – through regular inspection walks and undertaking of operational routines as directed by the Work Group Leader and Control Room Operator.
- Quality defect notification through the CMMS e.g. SAP and liaison with Engineering & Maintenance as required.
- Identifying and implementing initiatives to improve the management of site safety, contributing to the achievement of the company safety targets.
- Ensure consistent and accurate completion of the Shift Log entries and defect entries on the maintenance management system.
- Update processes and quality data to compile and distribute reports, as aligned to mill strategic objectives.
- Liaise and communicate with working parties to ensure timely release/re-commissioning of plant during day-to-day activities and following outage work.
- Support the creation of new and review of existing operational procedures, routines and reporting requirements to comply with current SHE policies.
- Cultivating a good operational environment, whilst also adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Support the execution of designated maintenance tasks, including those on planned and unplanned shutdowns. (Some tasks will include confined space entry with a requirement for RPE face fit test).
- Completing equipment isolations as a Production Authorised Person.
- Participate and deliver operations training and development of new staff.
- Ability and willingness to train to enact the duties of Control Room Operator as and when required.
- Be an active and functional member of the Mill Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.).
- Support the optimisation of fixed and variable costs in line with strategic targets.
- Through effective ‘task area management’ demonstrate ownership of the plant area, being a plant area knowledge specialist and have accountability for that area’s housekeeping.
- Required to work flexibly across the energy department and as requested take on additional activities to deliver key milestones, such as annual shutdowns, which the role holder is capable and competent to undertake.

Apprentices/trainee
As an Engineering Apprentice at Shotton Mill, you will gain technical, hands-on skill with our most experienced engineers on site, many of whom started as apprentices themselves. You will gain workplace experience and knowledge whilst gaining your qualifications and attending college. As the repurposing project gets underway, you will work alongside our engineers in doing the work to ensure the project is successful. You will be encouraged and guided with your learning, with ample support on site to aid with your development.
