Sparking Future Careers: Shotton Mill at Alun School Careers Event

Last week, on June 19th, Shotton Mill proudly participated in the Careers Event at Alun School, represented by our very own Natalie Lawton and Laura Fry. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with students from various local schools, discuss the Shotton Mill project, and shed light on the paper industry and the diverse early careers opportunities available for them in the future.

Natalie Lawton commented, "It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm from the students. Events like this are really important to show the next generation the exciting possibilities within our industry that are right here in their local community, especially when it comes to apprenticeships, graduate roles, and work experience."

We believe that by sharing insights and potential career pathways with the younger members of our community, we can share the exciting possibilities that a career in the paper industry can offer. This engagement is crucial for assisting with the development and growth of valuable local talent right here in our region.

We look forward to continuing to connect with future generations and sparking their interest and passion for future careers at Shotton Mill. Hopefully we will welcome some of the students we met to join us in the future.
