Shotton Mill Shares Vision for Sustainable Growth at Renewable Growth Conference

Shotton Mill was pleased to participate in the Deeside Business Forum Renewable Growth Conference at Deeside Sixth on 30 June 2026, joining business leaders, innovators, educators, and sustainability professionals from across the region to discuss the future of renewable energy and sustainable economic growth in North Wales.

Representing the company, Jackie Pearson, Director of Corporate Affairs, shared Shotton Mill's ambitions and highlighted the importance of collaboration in delivering long-term economic and environmental benefits for the region. A recurring theme throughout the conference was the power of partnership. Delegates heard how collaboration across sectors can help address economic and environmental challenges while unlocking new opportunities for investment, skills development and innovation.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the talent, ambition and determination that exists across North Wales and the wider region. As businesses and communities continue to work together to build a sustainable future, events such as the Renewable Growth Conference play an important role in fostering the relationships and ideas that will help shape the next chapter of regional growth.

Organised by Askar Sheibani, Chairman of the Deeside Business Forum, the conference was opened by The Rt Hon the Lord Barry Jones and expertly hosted by Carole Green of ITV Wales, supported by respected journalists Tim Rogers and Rob Shelley.

Commenting on the event, Jackie said:

"It was a privilege to share the Shotton Mill story with such a distinguished audience of business leaders, innovators and educators. The conference demonstrated the strength of North Wales when organisations come together with a shared ambition for sustainable growth. At Shotton Mill, we believe trusted partnerships are essential to creating lasting value, supporting the circular economy and securing a prosperous future for our region."

Shotton Mill would like to thank Askar Sheibani and the Deeside Business Forum for organising such a successful event, and Nick Tyson and the team at Deeside Sixth for providing an excellent venue.

The conference was a powerful reminder that by working together, North Wales can continue to drive innovation, attract investment and build a sustainable future for generations to come.

As one of the day's key messages captured perfectly: "Wales is small enough to care and big enough to matter."
