Shotton Mill Enjoys a Fantastic Day at CrickFest 2026
Shotton Mill was delighted to support CrickFest 2026, held at the Northop Hall Cricket and Hockey Club, joining local businesses, community groups and residents for another memorable day of family entertainment, live performances and community engagement.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for the team to connect with people from across the region, showcase the exciting transformation taking place at Shotton Mill, and discuss the wide range of career opportunities currently available as recruitment continues across the business.
Representing Shotton Mill for the day were the dynamic duo of Liz and Ben, who welcomed visitors to the Shotton Mill stand throughout the festival. The now well-travelled Shotton Mill gazebo once again made an appearance, although the weather ensured it wasn't without its challenges. With strong winds sweeping across the ground for much of the day, some quick thinking was required, leading the team to leave the gazebo sides off to help reduce the lift off risk and keep everything firmly anchored to the Northop Hall outfield rather than risk an unexpected flight across the festival site.
Despite the breezy conditions, spirits remained high and the stand attracted plenty of interest from members of the local community keen to learn more about Shotton Mill and the exciting opportunities available. As the business continues its active recruitment campaign, vacancies remain open across a number of operational and functional departments, offering candidates the chance to be part of one of the UK's most ambitious paper manufacturing projects.
Events such as CrickFest play an important role in helping Shotton Mill engage directly with local communities, providing an opportunity to meet potential future colleagues while sharing updates on the significant progress being made at the site.
Away from recruitment, CrickFest once again delivered everything that makes it such a popular annual event. Families enjoyed a fantastic atmosphere, a variety of food and drink offerings, and a programme of excellent live entertainment throughout the day, making it a great occasion for all involved.
Ben commented:
"CrickFest was a fantastic day and a brilliant opportunity for us to engage with the local community. The wind certainly kept us on our toes and prompted a few tactical decisions around the gazebo, but the atmosphere was excellent throughout. It was great to speak with so many people about the opportunities available at Shotton Mill, and we're proud to support events that bring the community together."
Shotton Mill would like to thank the organisers at Northop Hall Cricket and Hockey Club, the volunteers, performers, and everyone who stopped by the stand during the day. We look forward to continuing our support for local events and meeting even more members of the community as our recruitment campaign progresses.
