Eren Holding Chairman attends the UK International Investment Summit

On Monday, October 14th, Ahmet Eren, Chairman of Eren Holding, attended the prestigious International Investment Summit hosted by the UK Prime Minister at London's Guildhall. The event concluded with an evening reception at St. Paul's Cathedral hosted by King Charles III.

Gathering over 300 industry leaders from around the world, the summit provided a platform to foster investment and growth across the United Kingdom.

Eren Shotton Mill Limited's £1 billion development in Deeside, North Wales, is a significant investment by one of Turkey's largest conglomerates. This state-of-the-art paper mill will be among the most technologically advanced and largest in Europe. It will recycle paper and cardboard, producing 750,000 tonnes of containerboard and 67,000 tonnes of tissue paper annually. Supported by UKEF and the Welsh Government, the project will create and protect highly skilled manufacturing jobs in the region.

At the summit, the UK Prime Minister announced an impressive £63 billion in investments, expected to generate 38,000 jobs. A distinguished lineup of speakers, including the former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt and the former UK National Football team coach, Gareth Southgate, shared their insights on topics such as AI, the global economy, and UK's investment opportunities.

Eren Group's £1 billion investment in Wales was a highlight of the event. Nearly 250 top global investors learned about the Shotton Mill project through its case study in the event brochure.

Mr. Ahmet Eren met with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the Secretary of State for Wales, Jo Stevens, to discuss the project.

Ahmet Eren commented, "I am thrilled that Eren Shotton Mill's investment is so warmly welcomed and look forward to a successful startup in 2025. I am proud of the team's achievements and the support from both Welsh and UK Governments. This collaboration will bring prosperity and long-term employment to Deeside. The Shotton Mill facility will be a benchmark of excellence, a source of pride for Deeside, Wales, and Turkiye."
